Community Investments

Community Investments Overview

United Way North Central Florida's Community Investments support local programs that drive meaningful, measurable change across our region. By focusing on four key impact areas - Healthy Community, Youth Opportunity, Community Resiliency, and Financial Security - we fund initiatives that address our community's most pressing challenges. Every dollar invested is guided by data, driven by impact, and focused on building a stronger systems that help individuals and families thrive.

Community Investment Grants

Our Community Investment Grant process is a collaborative and data-informed approach designed to ensure funding is directed where it can have the greatest impact. Central to this process is the Community Investment Council (CIC), a diverse group of local volunteers who bring their expertise, insights, and passion for service to the decision-making table. Throughout the year, nonprofit organizations submit proposals aligned with United Way’s four impact areas: Healthy Community, Youth Opportunity, Community Resiliency, and Financial Security. The CIC carefully reviews these applications, conducts site visits, and evaluates program outcomes to make informed funding recommendations. This transparent and community-driven process ensures that donor dollars are invested in programs that are effective, accountable, and responsive to the region’s most pressing needs.
