United is The Way to Healthy Community

Everyone deserves the opportunity to live their healthiest life. At United Way, we help people overcome barriers to good health by improving access to nutritious food and quality health education and services, including preventative care, mental health support, and more.

Our Focus

Improving health and wellbeing for all.

Our Strategy

Identify gaps in community services and create, partner, or invest in programs that help ALICE households improve their access to health care services and nutritious food, especially for those households in underserved, rural communities.

Our Programs

SingleCare - We partner with SingleCare to help our community access affordable prescription medications, ensuring greater health and financial stability.

Our Collaborations

Alachua County Safety Net Collaborative - The Safety Net Collaborative is an independent, egalitarian, nonpartisan, interprofessional, and interdisciplinary volunteer organization whose members work across silos, remove barriers, and close holes in the healthcare and social services safety nets.

Our Investments

ElderCare of Alachua County - United Way North Central Florida invested $20,000 to provide nutritious meals to seniors living in more rural areas of Alachua County who meet the ALICE threshold. Click to read the full announcement.

Girls Place - We also invested $20,000 in Girls Place's BrainPower program which provides free access to mental health assessment, treatment, and social emotional learning to children in grades K-9. Click to read the full announcement.
