Books a Million Holiday Drive

Holiday Book & Toy Drive

October 24th through December 11th, in-store shoppers at Books-a-Million Gainesville, located at 6111 Newberry Rd., can elect to purchase a game, book, or toy during checkout for donation to United Way. Items collected will be distributed to local families in need.

Not a Books-a-Million shopper? You or your business can still collect toys for children (ages birth to 18) to donate to United Way. Donations will be accepted at our office through December 14th. For questions, contact Amber Miller at 352-333-0856. 

Suggested donations include: puzzles and crafts; sporting goods; board games; bicycles and scooters; art supplies; books and journals; toys; S.T.E.A.M kits; electronics accessories; clothing accessories; hair and beauty products; and fragrance kits.

Burlington Warm Coat Drive

Burlington Warm Coat Drive

Beginning November 21st through December 24th, Burlington is collecting used coats (children and adult sizes) to benefit United Way. Stop by their 13th Street location to donate and receive a store coupon. Collected coats will be distributed to agency partners serving individuals and families in need.


Holiday Shopping with AmazonSmile

Want to help make a difference while you shop through the Amazon app, at no extra cost to you? Select United Way of North Central Florida as your charity and activate AmazonSmile. They'll donate a portion of your eligible Amazon purchases to United Way.

How it works:

  1. Open the Amazon app on your smartphone or tablet
  2. Select the main menu icon (=) and tap on "Gifting & Charity" then tap "AmazonSmile"
  3. Select United Way of North Central Florida as your charity
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to activate AmazonSmile
  5. Start shopping!

Fill the Sleigh for United Way

Fill the Sleigh for United Way

Come join us for Light Up Tioga on Sunday, December 11th from 4:00 - 7:00 PM as we fill the sleigh for United Way with socks, blankets and toiletries for those facing housing insecurity. Collected items will be distributed through Keys to Home, our local homeless Continuum of Care which oversees the homeless response system and connects individuals experiencing homelessness with information and resources. United Way serves as lead agency for Keys to Home which also partners with a variety of homeless service providers including Grace, Family Promise, and Catholic Charities. 

Items needed: hand sanitizer; sunscreen; bug spray; toothbrush/toothpaste; shampoo/conditioner/soap; razors; deodorant; baby wipes; lotion; socks; ponchos; and feminine products.

2022 Charitable Donation Deadline

End of Year Giving

To be eligible for a 2022 tax deduction, credit card donations must be made by midnight on December 31. Paying online by credit card is the fastest and easiest way to donate, and the safest way to ensure your donation is processed by year end.

Checks must be postmarked by USPS on or before December 31, 2022 to:
