Cindi Larimer, MD, Gainesville Medical Obesity Specialty Clinic
1. Tell us about your business; and what is your business philosophy?
Gainesville Medical Obesity Specialty Clinic (GMOS clinic) comes from my long-term passion to go into medicine to prevent disease. Lifelong weight management is an excellent way to improve health and prevent the progression to many debilitating diseases. We are a patient-focused medical practice.
Our mission is that to offer compassionate quality care using medically sound methods to achieve and maintain weight loss, while promoting self-acceptance for all patients. We value providing medical excellence, fostering encouraging and respectful partnerships, celebrating big people, empowering clients to make lifelong changes, and taking care of our patients by keeping our team healthy.
2. Why are you passionate about your commitment to United Way’s Community Investment Fund?
Being raised by my wonderful mother, she taught me that giving back is a basic life requirement. I feel United Way is an excellent way to give back to the community that supports me and my family.
3. What is something interesting or surprising that most people don’t know about you?
I love my dogs and I enjoy bringing them the dog park and to my work. (And some of my patients love to cuddle them.)
4. What would your older self tell your younger self?
Thank you for what you did to get me where I am.
