1. Tell us about your business, and what is your business philosophy?
Pro-Care Janitorial Services was established in 1987. We are a full service, locally owned cleaning company. We are the most professional, accurate, dependable and trustworthy company in the industry and are considered Gainesville’s best! We use only environmentally safe chemicals with our efficient and effective equipment. Most of all, we employ a professional staff who are all certified with Federal, State, County and City facility clearance to service the highest level security areas. We have the best safety record in the State of Florida. No workers comp, theft or liability claims have been filed by our company since inception and we are multi-million dollar insured. We provide cleaning for all types of standard and non-standard cleaning, specializing in windows, carpets and floor coverings. We take pride in cleaning religious facilities. We still service the first contract we signed in 1987, StorterChilds Printing Co. Our business philosophy is to provide service as if it is unto God. We simply get it right the first time, and are consistent year after year.
2. Why are you passionate about your commitment to United Way's Community Investment Fund?
I have been passionate about United Way since serving several years on the Board of Directors. My goal then was to find the United Way a permanent home as opposed to leasing, so that donated funds could be redirected back into the community. Now after 28 years in business, I am passionate about the Community Investment Fund because it gives me the chance as a small business to contribute and provide even more charitable funds to the community. I take pride in the fact that funds stay in our area. I believe we have the most efficient and effective United Way staff in the US!
3. What is something interesting or surprising that most people don't know about you?
I am the son of the most giving person in the world, Pastor Joseph Camps, Sr. He helped so many people in this community and lost his life doing so. I cannot do what he did, so I contribute to United Way to help me fill those shoes.
4. What would your older self tell your younger self?
Jesus died so that we might enjoy our life in abundance and to the fullest until it overflows. You are not going to enjoy your life if you don’t enjoy being yourself. Be satisfied with yourself and your accomplishments and celebrate the unique way God made you. Live, laugh, love and most of all, give and serve others who are less fortunate than you are.
5. Favorite quote?
Tough times don’t last, but tough people do. Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass……it’s about learning to dance in the rain.
