HOW WOMEN LIVE UNITED
The Women’s Leadership Council has an exciting new name change to announce! Along with United Way Worldwide, our local group is now Women United. We are so excited about this change because we have always known that when women unite together, they can accomplish extraordinary things! Now this group’s ability is illustrated in their name.
Women United’s new Co-Chairs, Kathryn Lancaster and Laura Gunter are thrilled about what is to come in the next several months. Our annual Holiday Fundraising Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, November 9th at the Best Western Gateway Grand. More information will be available soon, we hope you can make it!
Raising our voices. Giving 10%. Giving 100%. Giving 110%. Kicking off our heels and getting down to business!
WE INVITE YOU TO JOIN US AND LIVE UNITED.
We are a movement of women who are uniting to create opportunities towards a better life for all. As an influential force in the community, we are determined to make positive changes in North Central Florida through investing in quality programs such as ReadingPals. As the women's leadership council, we strive to advocate for better policies, engage people in the community, and generate resources.
HOW IS THE WOMEN UNITED ACHIEVING RESULTS?
We are active in our community in many ways:
Our primary focus is ReadingPals. ReadingPals is an initiative to support education for 2nd-3rd graders in Alachua County. With ReadingPals, we want to advocate for Alachua County youth literacy and provide them with mentorship through volunteers and role models.
While networking and socializing, we host social events while raising money for new initiatives. Please check back on our website for more updates on events and socials!
