UNITED WAY CREATES LASTING CHANGE BY ADDRESSING BIG ISSUES

At United Way of North Central Florida, we take a long-term perspective on the needs of our community. We identify gaps, convene experts and providers to determine solutions and mobilize resources to solve problems and improve lives. We focus on three important areas: Education, Financial Stability and Health. Funded  strategies assist working families who need quality childcare, afterschool care, early childhood development and much more.

Even while we focus on these long-term issues, we still address immediate needs. A portion of the community impact funds supply food, emergency shelter, rent, utility payment assistance and other one-time interventions to help our neighbors when they are in the most dire circumstances. These  programs help homebound seniors receive a meal at their home once a day, provide support for families who need shelter from domestic violence or a safe place to stay when foreclosure evicts them from their homes.

Through the workplace campaigns, individual donor gifts and grants from foundations and corporations, United Way of North Central Florida serves the six-county area of Alachua, Bradford, Dixie, Gilchrist, Levy and Union counties.
